According to recent statistics, the count of people aged 100 and above in the UK has doubled from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the total of men aged 100 or over has grown by 200% from 910 to 3,100. Over the same years, the count of women aged 100 or over increased by nearly 100% from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are keen to listen to those aged 100 or over, their loved ones or companions, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s major happenings and changes.
