Ex- NFL Athlete Antonio Brown Enters Innocent Plea in Murder Attempt Charges

Ex- National Football League player Antonio Brown is traveling to Miami to confront an murder attempt accusation stemming from a gunfire that happened in May, with his attorney filing a innocent plea on his behalf.

Correctional records in Essex County, New Jersey, show that Brown was freed on Tuesday morning for his move to the state of Florida. Brown, one of the most popular figures in the NFL, had waived transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was taken after being arrested in Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an email that he has earlier submitted a formal innocent response to the murder attempt charge. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as soon as Wednesday morning for a release proceeding, Eiglarsh said.

As per his detention order, Brown is charged of grabbing a pistol from a safety staffer after a celebrity match contest in May and shooting two shots at a individual he had confronted with earlier. The alleged target, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, stated to authorities that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

Eiglarsh said that Brown was only defending himself from Nantambu.

“The measures he was compelled to take were solely in defense against the reported individual’s hostile actions. Brown was targeted that time and responded within his legal right to defend himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not promptly detained because at first officers did not identify Nantambu as a target. It not until later in May that Nantambu gave a detailed testimony about the situation to police and named Brown as the perpetrator, the report states.

From his digital updates, Brown had been residing in the city of Dubai for a number of weeks. In a update after the confrontation, Brown said he was protecting himself because he was “jumped by several people who sought to take my possessions and bring bodily damage to me.”

A level two attempted murder charge in the state of Florida bears a maximum 15-year prison penalty and up to a $10,000 penalty in the instance of a finding.

Brown has faced numerous judicial problems over the period. He before had been accused of assault of a truck operator, multiple domestic violence allegations, inability to pay child support and other occurrences.

During a 2021 season game with the Buccaneers against the Jets, Brown removed his uniform, equipment and gloves and exited the field, resulting in his termination by the Buccaneers and virtually ending his football journey.

Brown, who spent 12 years in the league, was an elite player who passed most of his career with his team. During his professional life, Brown had over 900 catches for more than 12,291 distance, the 28th most of all time. He was a multiple-time all-star choice.
